Job Description:

As a Splunk & App Dynamics Engineer, you will play a critical role in monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing our clients' systems, applications, and infrastructure. You will leverage your expertise in Splunk and App Dynamics to provide valuable insights, troubleshoot issues, and enhance the performance and reliability of our clients' IT environments.

Key Responsibilities:


1. Monitoring and Logging:

  • Configure, maintain and extend the capabilities of the Splunk and App Dynamics platforms to collect, index, and analyze log and performance data.
  • Create custom alerts, dashboards, and reports to proactively identify and address operational issues. 

2. Performance Optimization:

  • Work closely with application and infrastructure teams to ensure optimal performance and resource utilization.
  • Identify performance bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement, and implement solutions. 

3. Incident Response:

  • Collaborate with incident response teams to provide rapid and effective support during critical incidents.
  • Analyse logs and metrics to diagnose issues and provide actionable insights. 

4. Automation:

  • Develop and maintain automation scripts and workflows for data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Implement and optimize alerting and notification processes to enhance incident response. 

5. Documentation and Training:

  • Document configurations, best practices, and procedures for Splunk and App Dynamics.
  • Train and mentor other team members in the effective use of these tools. 

6. Integration:

  • Integrate Splunk and App Dynamics with other monitoring and analytics tools to create a comprehensive solution.
  • Collaborate with other engineering teams to ensure a seamless flow of information.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience.
  • Proven experience as a Splunk and App Dynamics Engineer or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of Splunk and App Dynamics platforms, including configuration, administration, and optimization.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Shell, PowerShell).
  • Understanding of IT infrastructure, systems, and applications.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Splunk Certified Power User, Splunk Certified Admin, AppDynamics Certified Administrator) are a plus.

Job Summary:

The Asset Capturer is responsible for accurately cataloguing, tracking, and maintaining an organization's assets, including physical equipment, digital assets, and other valuable resources. They play a crucial role in ensuring proper asset management and accountability.

Key Responsibilities:

Asset Data Collection:

    • Physically inspect and identify all assets, including but not limited to computer hardware, software licenses, office furniture, machinery, and vehicles.
    • Record asset details, such as serial numbers, purchase dates, warranty information, and location. 
    • Verify and update asset information regularly to ensure accuracy

Asset Tracking and Monitoring:

    • Configure a system to track asset movement, transfers, and disposals.
    • Conduct regular audits to verify the physical presence of assets and investigate any discrepancies.
    • Monitor asset depreciation and update values accordingly for financial reporting.

Maintenance and Preservation:

    •  Ensure proper maintenance schedules for assets and track maintenance activities.
    • Implement procedures to prevent loss, damage, or theft of assets.
    • Maintain records of repairs and maintenance

Asset Disposal:

    • Coordinate the disposal or sale of assets that are no longer in use.
    • Ensure that disposal processes comply with regulatory and environmental requirements.

Data Management:

    • Maintain an organized database or asset management software to store and retrieve asset information.
    • Generate regular reports and summaries of asset status for management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience in asset management or a related field. • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in using asset management software and tools.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledge of accounting and financial principles related to asset management.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance standards related to asset management.

Preferred Skills:

  • Certification in asset management (e.g., CMMS, CAMP, ISO 55000). 
  • Experience in implementing asset tracking technology and RFID systems.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry-specific standards and best practices. 
  • ITIL Principles, HAM, SAM
